General Questions
What can I expect on installation day?
Our engineer will arrive with your boiler and all the necessary parts. They usually arrive between 8-10am but they will call to let you know when they will arrive.
Our engineers will carry out the work to the highest possible level, making sure they protect any areas in which they work and cleaning up any areas in which they have worked.
Do I need to do anything pre-installation?
We only ask that you clear the areas in which the engineers need to work to give them access.
What happens to my old boiler?
Your old boiler and associated parts will be taken away from your home on the day of installation and recycled. If you would like to keep your old boiler, just let the engineers know on the day.

Will the tanks in my attic be removed?
Yes, these will be decommissioned and taken from your home. On the rare occasion, your tanks are full of sludge it is advisable that they are left in situ to dry and removed at a later date.
Will my back boiler be removed?
Yes, it will. All associated pipework will be decommissioned and/or reconnected where required.
Will the engineer protect my home with dust sheets?
Yes, your engineer will fully protect your home before the installation commences with dust sheets.
Is my shower compatible with a new combi?
Low-pressure showers cannot usually take the new high pressure entering them and may leak internally. It's best you check this with the manufacturer of the shower to see if possible. In the case that it is not compatible a new high-pressure shower is required.
Will I be left with heating and hot water overnight?
Probably not if this is a conversion from a standard boiler to a combi. However, you will have cold water and in most scenarios, your gas back up and running. It's always best to stipulate your requirements with the engineer before the installation takes place.
System Filter, what’s that?
When we supply a system filter with the installation - this is fitted to your central heating return pipework and collects any residue that builds up in the system, before it goes in to the boiler. The filter is cleaned out on an annual boiler service.
What is a Smart Thermostat?
Smart Thermostats are boiler controls that manage your heating/hot water. They work on radio or wifi frequency / signal and a receiver will be wired into your boiler. The engineer will then site an appropriate position agreed by yourself for the thermostat itself, and you can control your boiler from there.
What type of boiler do I have?
If you do not have a hot water cylinder and tanks in your attic then it is likely you have a combi boiler. If you do have a hot water cylinder and tanks in the attic, then it is likely you have a standard or back boiler unit. If you just have a hot water cylinder and no tanks in the attic it is likely you have a system boiler.
